As expected, the big news of the day at Disney’s Annual Shareholder’s Meeting was the opening dates of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

In Disneyland, on May 31st, guests will be able to experience Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge within the immersive land of Batuu. Phase One of the opening will allow you to take control of the biggest hunk of junk in the galaxy on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and much more.

Later in the year, Disneyland’s Phase Two opening will bring Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction Disney has ever put into their parks.

If you are in Disneyland from May 31st to June 23, 2019, you’ll need to actually make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. We’ll get more information on how to reserve your spot later.  Guests at The Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, or Paradise Pier on Disneyland Resort will get a designated reservation to access Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.

Galaxy’s Edge will not be available during Extra Magic Hours or Early Morning Magic at Disneyland.

You will NOT need a reservation to enter Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. Opening date announced of August 29th, and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge WILL be available during Extra Magic Hours. Like Disneyland, Hollywood Studios Galaxy’s Edge area will open in Phases, with the Falcon attraction being open in Phase one, and Rise in Phase two.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will initially not have Fastpass availability at Hollywood Studios or MaxPass availability at Disneyland.
