When anyone asks me “when will they release free dining?”, my usual answer is as follows: “Well, it’s never guaranteed, but they typically release that promotion for booking around late April, early May…” and then I finish my answer with eight key words:

“But you never know what Disney will do.”

And I say that with good reason… because FREE DINING DROPPED THIS MORNING!!! WHAT?!!!

Traditionally a fall promotion, we usually see the rumors circulating around the end of March, and it will drop overnight one day in late April or early May, and everyone makes a mad scramble to get savings – well, I woke up this morning to the announcement that Disney has released their usual Spring savings promo… but also a free dining promotion as well. I had to stare at the email on my phone for several seconds before I could comprehend what I was seeing.  FREE DINING??

The dates are a little different this year, no doubt in part to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opening up in November or December 2019 at Walt Disney World… while in year’s past, it’s been late August through September, with some days in later fall… this year the dates are:

Any check in from July 5th to September 30th, 2019.  That means you have to check in on those days (checking in on July 4th won’t do it, but checking in on September 30th will, even if your trip goes into October).

Also, if you have a value or moderate resort, you get the free quick service plan, but you can upgrade to the regular dining plan. If you are in a deluxe resort, then you automatically get the free regular dining!  To get this promotion, you have to book by February 10th, 2019, and remember — Disney gives each resort a certain number of rooms to have that promo. When those rooms are sold, the resort is sold out for free dining (so even if we see rooms available for say, Caribbean Beach in August, that doesn’t mean it has free dining rooms left).

Are you unclear about what exactly the dining plan even is, or offers?  Then click here here for a full explanation!

This promotion includes, but are not limited to, the following restrictions: Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion. Advance reservations required. Offer excludes the following room types: campsites, 3-bedroom Grand Villas, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort—The Little Mermaid standard rooms. Dining plan excludes gratuities. Children ages 3–9 must order from children’s menu, if available. Some Table-Service restaurants may have limited or no availability at time of package purchase.

BUT I’M NOT GOING IN FALL… I WANT TO GO IN MAY OR JUNE?!

Well, we can’t leave you out, can we?  Also released today is the usual room discount that comes out every year.  This time, if you book through March 24th, we can save you up to 30% on most deluxe resorts, 25% on most moderates and 20% on many value resorts.  If you wait, and end up booking by May 27th, then those percentages become 25% on deluxe and moderate, and 15% on values.  That’s a lot of % numbers, so just let me know and I’ll be happy to try and save you what I can!

  • Save up to 30%* for stays most nights May 28-Sept. 30, 2019. Book through March 24, 2019.
  • Save up to 25%* for stays most nights April 28-May 27, 2019. Book through May 27, 2019.

Restrictions on the room savings are, but not limited to: Offer excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom Grand villas, Cabins at Disney’s Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

Remember, its a $200 deposit to book your trip, so even if you are only halfway to deciding for sure, it’s not a bad idea to go ahead and let’s get you booked — if you change your mind, there is a full refund on everything paid in available up until the balance due date, which is 30 days, so if you have the $200 to put down, you risk nothing!
